“Be a yardstick for quality. Some people aren’t used to an environment where excellence is expected.” - Steve Jobs
Hello Quality Professionals,
First, allow me to apologize for the event getting posted rather late last month. Yes, we did learn from it and have made changes to work on getting them entered earlier for the remainder of the program year.
Last month we learned how to Identify and Avoid Bias When You Don’t Know You Have It, in the presentation given by Dr. Betsy Macht. I must say, I had not given my personal bias much thought. GO BLUE! Seriously, is there an unconscious or deliberate bias in the data I collect to make quality decisions? Do I have bias in my risk analysis? Interesting and thought provoking!
Let me give a heartfelt thank you to Scott Makowski, Kevin Homrich and Brian Baker for attending in-person, they are examples of being ENGAGED! Please join us this month because the SLC is bringing another top-notch speaker, Russ Snyder, a Senior Director at the Intel Corporation managing Supply Chain Operations. His topic is Anticipating Disruption in Supply Chain: Rethinking Business Continuity. Don’t miss this unique supply chain analysis that will impact your quality thinking and an event that will provide networking opportunities for your quality career.
Did you know that you don’t have to be an ASQ Member to come to our ASQ Presents meeting each month? Please bring a friend and enjoy the fellowship and networking opportunities. The Grand Rapids Section has a dedicated and hardworking SLC (Section Leadership Committee), but we need additional volunteers to help keep us moving forward. Please consider joining this team of ENGAGED individuals.
Thank you for supporting the Grand Rapids Section!
Chad Wittkopp,
Chair Grand Rapids Section 1001
