Message From the Chair - August 2022

“We now accept the fact that learning is a lifelong process of keeping abreast of change. And the most pressing task is to teach people how to learn.” - Peter Drucker

Hello Quality Professionals, I hope your summer is going well!

First, I want to thank everyone who is participating in section activities month to month. A heart felt thank you for you being an ENGAGEMENT example.

The SLC has a new program year ready for the 2022–2023 season. I could not be happier with the speaker line-up this year! More news to follow, but look for your annual postcard in the mail and join us at the Holiday Inn Downtown, located at 310 Pearl St. If you have not been to a meeting here before, you are missing out. The room is the right size for great networking, a wonderful meal, and listening to a top-notch speaker each month. Did you know that you don’t have to be an ASQ Member to come to our ASQ Presents! meeting each month? Please bring a friend and enjoy the fellowship and networking opportunities.

ASQ 1001 Grand Rapids has a dedicated and hardworking SLC (Section Leadership Committee), but we need more volunteers to keep the section healthy and active. Please consider helping in any way possible to keep our section viable.

One of the SLC’s activities is to follow our business plan and monitor our section goals and objectives. Below you will find our dashboard metric report out through July 2022:

Financial Balance Actual = $28,301.92 Target = $30,000.00

Section Members Actual = 248 Target = 350

Member Meeting Attendance Actual = 34 Target = 50

If you have suggestions and to improve our monthly meetings, please contact the section email, or post to our Facebook page, ASQ Grand Rapids Section 1001. Please don’t hesitate to volunteer your input because we want to provide the highest quality product for our members as we pursue Knowledge – Networking – Opportunities for the quality professionals in West Michigan.

Thank you for supporting the Grand Rapids Section!
