“Quality means doing it right when no one is looking.” – Henry Ford
Hello Quality Professionals,
First, let me start with thanking those who attended our February ASQ Presents, the first 2022 Grand Rapids Section in-person event at the new venue. You are an example of ENGAGEMENT! Pam DeGraaf, Andrew Norder, Tony Wolfram, Keith Councell, David Hegenauer, Brain Baker, Dwight Johnson and the SLC all attended in-person. Our virtual attendees were Cara Fritsma, John Otterbein, Andrew Higgins, Mark Dulemba, Shane McGrath, Todd Lamer, Barry Valko, Sarah Breed Jones, Chrissy Lutke, and Elsa Navarro.
Our speaker Lauren Torres did an outstanding job presenting a Low-Cost Predictive Model for Hop Creep Potential in Packaged Beer, and even brought samples. You missed out if you were not there.
The next event is March 10th. It will be a virtual only event welcoming Joe Stanford speaking on Bed Quality: “ZZZ”. How relaxing is that! Get your questions ready and don’t miss this event, join us via the Zoom link you receive from your ePly registration!
As discussed last month, the registration is open and the SLC would appreciate you signing up early. Our goal is to have registration live the week following the previous month’s event, plenty of time to plan and sign-up early.
Please allow me to tell you a little more about myself. As a leader, I do wear my heart on my sleeve and will take an honest and blunt approach to keeping in touch with you. ASQ1001, the Grand Rapids Section, cannot continue to be financially healthy and present great Quality speakers without Quality professionals (YOU) coming out. Although I appreciate the intimate nature of a small crowd listed above, it really doesn’t pay for a great venue like the Holiday Inn. We need your help, get engaged by coming and inviting a Quality friend to the next in-person meeting in April. The SLC is really excited about the new venue, so let’s work to share our vision and the value of our local section!
Our April in-person/virtual event will be presented by Kathy Lyall, a quality leader with 25 years of experience in the medical device, automotive, and consumer goods industries. We will learn about Nemawashi, the first step in the decision-making process.
So again, what is my key word for 2022? ENGAGEMENT!
If you have ideas or suggestions or want to improve our monthly meetings, please contact the section email, email@example.com or post to our Facebook page, ASQ Grand Rapids Section 1001. Please don’t hesitate to volunteer your input because we need it to provide the highest quality product for our members as we pursue Knowledge – Networking – Opportunities for the quality professionals in West Michigan.
Thank you for supporting the Grand Rapids Section!
