Message from the Chair – February 2022

“Quality is never an accident. It is always the result of intelligent effort.”

~John Ruskin

Hello Quality professionals,

Remember talking about the new normal in my last message, it’s here! It’s time for our first in person ASQ Presents! event for the Grand Rapids section in 2022. I am so excited to see you at this event, but don’t wait, there is limited seating at our new venue, and you do not want to miss our speaker Lauren Torres presenting a Low-Cost Predictive Model for Hop Creep Potential in Packaged Beer. The SLC is really excited about the new venue, the Holiday Inn Grand Rapids Downtown, so bring a quality friend and come join us. As a part of our promise, this will be a hybrid meeting. The SLC has been working hard to continually provide quality speakers and this month’s return speaker is no exception. Don’t miss this in person event or join us via the Zoom link.

A major focus for 2022 is meeting attendance. I hope you can already see changes being made to provide you with a consistent and pleasant experience. Discover the event through section e-mails, the newsletter, myASQ, Facebook or LinkedIn, register using e-Ply and then become engaged by attending, networking, and by completing the survey. That’s ENGAGEMENT!

The ASQ Presents! monthly meeting on March 10th, will be a virtual only meeting. Joe Stanford will be educating us about quality in a consumer product we use daily.

He will present Bed Quality: “ZZZ”. How exciting is that! Get your questions ready!

If you have ideas or suggestions or want to improve our monthly meetings, please contact the section email, asqsection1001@gmail.com or post to our Facebook page, ASQ Grand Rapids Section 1001. Please don’t hesitate to volunteer your input because we need it to provide the highest quality product for our members as we pursue Knowledge – Networking – Opportunities for the quality professionals in West Michigan.

Thank you for supporting the Grand Rapids Section!

Chad Wittkopp,

Chair Grand Rapids Section 1001
