“The severe pain and the great trials we go through teach us the real essence of great joy.”

New Year’s Greetings Members & Friends of the Grand Rapids Section!
I hope you all had a safe and enjoyable holiday season. To say it was different would be an understatement, but now there is hope with the vaccine being distributed to our front-line heroes. Although there is hope of a better year in 2021, the section will continue to meet virtually via Zoom Meeting until there is direction from ASQ Global allowing us to resume in-person meetings. Guidance from ASQ is expected in February. The next scheduled ASQ Presents! meeting will be a Zoom Meeting held January 14, 2021; when Denise Robitaile will present Remote Auditing: A Quick and Simple Guide for Management System Auditors. Please join us to learn more about this highly relevant topic.
Although the section is facing several challenges as we begin 2021, I am confident that we will have a successful year, utilizing new technologies and various meeting formats to reach more of our section members. In fact, my primary goal this year is to increase our section membership which has seen a steady decline because of work force reductions, attrition, and retirement. We also need to reach out to early in career quality professionals who may not be aware of the benefits of ASQ membership. If you have any ideas or are interested in increasing our membership, please contact any member of the Section Leadership Committee (SLC) to find out how you can help in this effort to provide Knowledge – Networking – Opportunities to quality professionals in West Michigan.
It was my pleasure to serve you last year and I look forward to a productive New Year in 2021, as we strive to provide beneficial meetings, classes, and events to give you member value as we pursue Excellence Through Quality!
Stay healthy and Best Wishes for a safe and prosperous 2021.
