Message from the Chair – February 2020
“Work like you don't need the money. Love like you've never been hurt.
Dance like nobody's watching.” - Satchel Paige
Greetings Section 1001 members!! The February event is next week and it promises to be an entertaining evening. Marc Caron will be presenting “Quality of Magic the Magic of Quality.” Please remember to register early for this fantastic networking opportunity. The discounted price of $27.00 is only available until Sunday, so please register early!
You will soon receive an email about the next round of certification preparation courses offered by the Grand Rapids Section. These are instructor led courses conducted in an interactive classroom environment with proven, high success rates on the ASQ examinations. If you or someone you know are thinking about taking an ASQ certification examination, now is the time to sign up for the preparation course. You can register for the classes through Eventbrite.
As you heard in Juan Loera’s tutorial regarding the Business Plan & Budget, there are changes happening at the global level relative to how ASQ will operate in the future. ASQ is treating the organization more like a corporation. Strategic goals cascade down to tactical goals, which flow down to goals and objectives for our section and individual members. What does this mean for you? The goal is to transform your member experience, to better serve the needs of individuals to ensure their professional success through ASQ products and services. After all, it is all about you and creating member value. As we move into the new year, you will hear more about the section activities to achieve Excellence Through Quality.
We encourage anyone interested in getting involved with the leadership committee to make sure to make your interest known – speak directly to any member of the Section Leadership Committee for more details.
The Grand Rapids Section Leadership Committee would like to thank you again for being active members of our great section and I look forward to seeing you Thursday, at the February 13th ASQ Presents! for the opportunity to enhance your career and membership experience through Knowledge – Networking – Opportunities!
Best Regards,
Ken Phillips, Chair
