How well does your organization measure its performance?
On a scale of 1 to 10 (with 10 being excellent), please rate how well you feel your organization measures its performance for the purpose of improving quality, effectiveness, efficiency, service delivery, etc. And if you are willing to share the name of your organization as well as any best practices, please do.

Measuring Performance is not an easy task on an organizational level. It is a joint effort of each employee, from front line to the CEO/City Manager and Council. An approach which is more  intuitive helps. We at the City of Tyler are helping not only the leaders/ executive team but also departments and front line employees understand the importance of measuring what you treasure. It is through collaborating in the middle, from both top-down and bottom-up which creates a common space where nobody is CEO or trash pickup guy but everyone is a representative who works towards the same vision on the same path.
