Participate on Input Panel for Manufacturing Survey

I would like to e-introduce myself to the Human Development and Leadership Division as the ASQ Segment Manager working along side this group of leaders. I’m looking forward to collaborating with you and a new opportunity to do that has already presented itself. Would you like to help shape the direction of this year’s ASQ Manufacturing Outlook Survey? I’m asking HD&L and QMD to gauge interest because our focus this year is on “soft skills” and “leadership”.
Each year, ASQ conducts a Manufacturing Outlook Survey asking ASQ members in manufacturing about the company health of their companies (Do you anticipate increased revenues next year? What hurdles do you anticipate in increasing revenues?), as well as questions about a specific topic of interest. In past years, we’ve asked about the skilled labor shortage, the confidence in their supply chain, smart manufacturing and more. You can see last years’ article here for reference.
We have shared the results of the poll with the media with success, and share the data on social media platforms and in QP magazine. We are in the process of exploring other avenues and outlets to share the information.
This year, and in the spirit of collaboration, we would like to invite some Divisions to help us shape the survey, which we want to focus on the soft skills needed for quality professionals, employee engagement and coaching. We are still fleshing out the specifics regarding the topic, and would like to develop an input panel, of sorts, to make sure we’re hitting the mark and asking the questions that would provide the most intriguing results.
Please let me know if you are willing to participate voluntarily.  We envision a 1-hour call in early December for a panel to offer input. Please email me at or message me via myASQ if you are interested. I know Brooks Carder will also participate. Thanks so much!

I offer this observation for your consideration. Within the recent book FEAR: Trump in the White House by Bob Woodward, the economic advisor, Gary Cohn, informed President Trump that 84% of the US economy is in the service sector.

Given this evolution within the present economy, is there a plan within ASQ to offer an equivalent "Services Outlook Survey"?  If so, the expertise within the Human Development and Leadership Division, along with that of the Service Quality Division, would be constructive and instrumental in crafting relevant and pertinent offerings for this particular demographic. Am increased prioritization of the Services economy by ASQ would enable more successful adaptation to the current trends and opportunities.
