ASQ Delaware and ASQ Vermont Sections have collaborated with ASQConnex and are excited to present this virtual "Auditing for Improvement" Course!

This four-session course will provide presentations, handouts, resources, and many tips that will help you plan, perform, report and close a process-based quality audit, for both 1st and 2nd party audits.

This course will cover and provide:

  • Presentations and details of the key tasks & deliverables of the four-phase auditing process;
  • Practice exercises & case studies;
  • Audit resources & templates to use after class;
  • The e-files of the PowerPoint presentations;
  • Quality Audits for Improved Performance, book by Dennis Arter included; and
  • Access to the instructor between and after sessions for additional help & guidance.

In addition, a 5th Bonus Session, "Risk Based Auditing per ISO 19011:2018," will be included on Monday, Nov. 15th, from 8:30 am - 10:30 am EST. If you attend this bonus session, you will earn an additional 0.2 RUs.

About the Instructor:

Tim King is a Preferred Provider of educational courses for the American Society for Quality ( He founded Quality Matters LLC in Williston, VT, providing clients with training & consulting services in leadership, quality and having worked in various management and QMS certification readiness. Prior to that, he was in engineering and management roles for GE in the aerospace division.

Tim served from 2000-2008 as a national examiner for the National Malcolm Baldrige Quality Award; and he served four years as an award judge for the ASQ International Team Excellence Award (ITEA). Tim serves on several professional boards, including the Vermont Section of ASQ as Education Chair & Treasurer.

Tim has a master’s degree in Training & Management Development, and a master’s degree in mechanical engineering. He is certified by ASQ as Manager of Quality & Organizational Excellence (CMQOE); a Quality Auditor (CQA); and a Quality Inspector (CQI). Tim obtained his Lean Six-Sigma Master Black Belt from the Thayer School of Engineering- Dartmouth College. He is also certified to administer the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator, MBTI.
