A NOTE FROM ASQ VANCOUVER CHAIR

Dear ASQ Members,

2020 so far has been like no other year! First of all, I want you to know that our ASQ Vancouver Section Leadership Committee is thinking of you during this time of health and economic crisis. More than anything else, we are wishing you and your loved ones to stay healthy and safe during the COVID 19 pandemic. As much as we miss seeing all of you at our events, in order to protect everyone, we have cancelled our face to face events until September 2020. If anything changes in our plan after that timeframe based on the external circumstances, we will let you know.
However, the good news is that our team of volunteers is still working behind the scenes to make sure that we are still adding value to our members! Our business excellence and quality events will be continuing throughout the year in the online format. We encourage you to sign up and participate in order to stay connected with your network of Quality, EHS, Risk Management and Reliability professionals, to keep yourself informed on the latest knowledge in your field, and to keep earning those Recertification Units. Yes, the day will be come when our current ASQ or PMP certifications will be coming up for a renewal and we will be looking for those valuable RU’s!
There are four events we encourage you to sign up for this May!
One is coming up on May 6thASQ World Conference, which is going virtual for the first time ever! And the best part – it is free! If you haven’t done so yet –  hurry up and register for this day long event at the link below: https://asq.org/conferences/wcqi. As it is announced on ASQ website, complimentary access to the recordings will be available May 6 to 11, 2020.
Brought to you by your local ASQ chapter and held by ASQ Vancouver past chair David Muncaster, we have another exciting event to enjoy online from the comfort and safety of your house: May 21, 2020,  6-8:30 pm PDT a webinar on Creating and Maintaining Great Teams in Times of Change. Visit https://asq.bc.ca/ for more details.
On our website you will also find two more free webinars on timely and pertinent subjects of Lean Approach to Business Preparedness and Continuity (May 13, 2020, 9 am PDT) and a Bilingual Webinar Strategic Room – Strategic Decision (May 19, 2020, 9 am).
I encourage you to keep your Recertification Journals handy, as there are there will be more opportunities to get involved with ASQ Vancouver, to add value by sharing your expertise and work towards your goals of staying active in your chosen field!  Let us know if would like to write or co-author articles on the topics of your interest, if you would like to be a webinar presenter or to learn more on how you can get involved. Please contact me at chair@asq.bc.ca or natellaisazada@yahoo.com, I would love to hear from you!
We agree, there is a lot of uncertainty and concern we are facing with the current situation in the world, but here at ASQ Vancouver we believe that we can still spend this time expanding our horizons and help each other grow. Afterall, we are all in this together. And only together we can get to the better times!  Wishing everyone good health and strength,

Sincerely,
Natella Isazada, CMQ/OE
