April 9 Program Meeting
April 9 @ 6:30 pm – 8:00 pm
*NOTE the later start time. 100% virtual (WebEx) – no networking session.
SPEAKER: Cyndi (Crother) Laurin, PhD
TOPIC: Moving the Frontline Forward: Engage Your Employees to Create an Optimal Customer Outcome through Improving the Manager Experience
While innovative products are the primary focus of most leaders, we know people are what really make a company competitive. For over twenty years, the Gallup poll identifies approximately two-thirds of the workforce as not engaged with most leaving their job as a result of the quality of the day-to-day relationship with their direct supervisor. There is a direct correlation between culture and bottom line. If a company is experiencing high turnover at the frontline, then poor quality, dissatisfied customers and declining margins are close behind. “Without tools and specific language to manage others, most default to how they were parented,” says Laurin. “Parenting your staff isn’t managing them. Managing is the practice of observation and providing clear, regular feedback.”
So here’s the real issue: How do you give your most valuable asset the resources needed to be effective without spending tons of money on training and waiting months to see results?
Cyndi (Crother) Laurin, Ph.D. has 25+ years’ experience in facilitating learning and organizational development. Her specialty is employee engagement and performance and operational initiatives, such as lean, six sigma, and Baldrige Performance Criteria. Cyndi is also the bestselling author of Catch! She also wrote, The Rudolph Factor: Finding the Bright Lights That Drive Innovation in Your Business (2009) detailing the phenomenal cultural transformation of Boeing’s C-17 Program.
In addition to writing books, Cyndi is a sought after keynote speaker, general problem solver, and Certified LEGO® Serious Play Facilitator. She has a passion for helping individuals and organizations move toward their potential…and of course, wrangling Rudolphs along the way.
