Baltimore Science Fair Cancelled

Our section received the following communication from the director of the Baltimore Science Fair who has cancelled the event to ensure our students, teachers, and volunteers remain safe:

Good evening students and teachers,

It is with a heavy heart that I am writing to inform you that today we have made the very difficult decision to cancel the 2020 Baltimore Science Fair. We made this decision in partnership with our long time host, Towson University who, in an abundance of caution, made the decision to cancel all events taking place at their facilities over the next few weeks.

The health and safety of our students, their families, and our dedicated volunteers are our top priority. We are following best practices as outlined by industry professionals when it comes to protecting the community against the spread of the COVID-19 virus. We understand that this will be disappointing to many of you but please know that this decision was not made lightly.

We know that a tremendous amount of work and dedication have gone into each and every one of your research projects. Please know that we would not have made this decision if we did not think it was in the best interest of everyone's health and safety.

Please do not hesitate to reach out with any questions or concerns and we will respond to all inquiries as quickly as we can.

Best,

Gillian Reily Smith
Director - Baltimore Science Fair
