The program topic is "Supplier Management During and After the Time of COVID-19". Supplier Management is important for developing general risk management plans, managing the supply chain, and completing effective root cause analysis for CAPAs. Industry has become more automated and digitized with time, quality tools must change to keep up. COVID-19 has served as a catalyst to this process by demanding companies to become more digitized to allow personnel to work remotely in order to stay afloat. Even after COVID-19 passes, supplier management will have been changed going forward. Risk Mitigation plans must be revised, processes must be streamlined, and strong customer-supplier relationships must be built to get through these trying times and move forward stronger than ever. This presentation will discuss and provide tips for planning and executing virtual audits as well as effectively collaborating externally and internally to complete supplier qualification activities and verify the effectiveness of supplier management controls.
The program will be followed by a tutorial titled 'ISO 13485 (Medical Device) and Risk-based Supplier Management' where Ms. Fisher-Clarke will discuss several tools that can be used as starting points for various aspects. The audience will vote on the most relevant topic and Ms. Fisher-Clarke will then present some tools. Topics include: Basics to consider when grading the performance of suppliers; risk assessments to determine if audits are needed; supplier self assessments for consideration iin qualification.
