Our February 9 meeting will be held as a Virtual Meeting in accordance with the state of Maryland guidelines on physical distancing.

Our featured speaker is Duke Okes. Mr. Okes has worked over 40 years in the areas of cost of quality, office waste, root cause analysis, performance measurement. He has helped others with various ASQ certifications in quality auditing, management and engineering. He has also taught auditing, Lean, Six Sigma, cost of quality, statistics, and failure modes and effects analysis. He has 4 ASQ certifications: CQE, CQA, SSBB, and CMQ/OE. His firm DC Wood Consulting LLC has worked with clients in manufacturing, healthcare, and transactional businesses. The company's website is www.dcwoodconsulting.com.

The program topic is "Trending Risk Ranked Audit Nonconformities". For several years financial auditors have used analytics in order to look for indications of fraud or other process risks when deciding which processes to audit.  The analysis can help identify which processes may be more at risk, justifying the in-depth use of audit resources.  Since ISO 9001 and its derivatives for other industries now call for risk- based thinking (and the audit clause even specifies three ways to do this), using analytics is a logical next step.  This presentation will discuss this concept and demonstrate several analytics techniques for carrying it out. The program will be followed by a tutorial presented by Mr. Okes.
