ASQ Phoenix Section September Program Update
Due to a late-breaking speaker conflict, the Phoenix Section is currently collaborating with our replacement guest speaker to present at the September monthly member development & business meeting. Charles "Chuck" Cox has graciously volunteered to present a topic of interest to our membership.
The September program will commence as scheduled.
Topic: "The New FMEA: Greater Focus on Foresight rather than Hindsight"
Abstract: Chuck will discuss how the basics of the original 3-step FMEA process have been updated to the more insightful 7-step framework. It is designed to be more effective by:
- Surfacing potential failure modes earlier using a systems look at functions analysis, and
- Using the Action Priority logic-based lookup tables to better define the most critical areas for engineering efforts to focus on.
Also, the 3rd FMEA: Supplemental FMEA for Monitoring and System Response will be discussed.
