Job Summary:

National Electric Coil is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Quality Assurance Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in rotating equipment, power generation, and quality assurance practices. This position is responsible for overseeing and improving the quality processes in our manufacturing facility, managing inspections, and ensuring that our products meet the highest standards of quality and compliance. The role requires strong leadership skills, technical expertise in inspection and testing, and a commitment to maintaining ISO 9001:2015 standards.

 

Key Responsibilities:

- Quality Management: Draft, issue, and maintain Quality Inspection Plans and applicable inspection forms. Manage and direct 1-2 direct reporting inspectors across two shifts.

- Inspection Oversight: Direct inspections on materials, components, and structures, ensuring adherence to industry standards, codes, and regulations. Implement advanced inspection techniques to detect, assess, analyze, and document flaws and defects.

- Documentation & Reporting: Write in-process, defect identification, and final inspection reports, clearly communicating needed work or completed work. Collaborate with engineers to interpret inspection findings and determine corrective actions.

- System Management: Oversee the design and updating of an electronic tablet/computer system for capturing inspection records and documents, tying them into a central companywide system.

- Compliance & Standards: Maintain and update ISO 9001:2015 standards and ensure compliance with quality and safety protocols across all processes.

- Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams, including engineering, to ensure proper implementation of inspection results and compliance with company policies and customer requirements.

- Customer Interaction: Communicate effectively with customers and internal teams, ensuring clarity on quality issues, inspection outcomes, and corrective actions.

 

Qualifications and Skills:

- Certifications: Level 1 (or higher) NDE certification for MT, PT, UT, or the ability to interpret inspection concerns effectively.

- Inspection Equipment: Proficiency in using inspection tools such as inside and outside micrometers, feeler gauges, cameras, borescopes, meggers, AC/DC HiPot testers, and digital volt meters.

- Computer Skills: Must be proficient in MS Word, Excel, Project, Outlook, TEAMS, and Adobe Acrobat Pro Plus. Experience with Visio is a plus.

- Electrical Knowledge: Strong foundation in electricity and the ability or willingness to operate high-capacity electrical test equipment.

- Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in quality assurance, with a focus on manufacturing, rotating equipment, or power generation.  

- Leadership Skills: Experience managing a small team, with the ability to mentor and direct staff across shifts.

- Problem-Solving & Reporting: Strong written communication and problem-solving skills for accurate reporting and collaboration. Able to translate technical information to non-technical stakeholders.

- Attention to Detail: High attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining the highest quality standards.

 

Physical Requirements:

- Must be able to stand for extended periods and lift/move parts up to 40lbs without a crane.

- Ability to walk long distances and climb stairs as required.

- Possess a valid driver’s license and the ability to obtain a US Passport for travel as needed.
